My Entrepreneurial Journey

From identifying healthcare disparities to developing a telemedicine solution

Overview

My journey began when I witnessed firsthand the healthcare disparities in rural and low-income communities. Despite technological advances, many people still lack access to basic healthcare services due to geographical, financial, and systemic barriers.

I spent months researching, interviewing patients and healthcare providers, and analyzing healthcare access data to understand the core challenges and validate the need for an accessible telemedicine solution.

46%
Of rural residents lack specialist access
28%
Longer travel time to healthcare facilities
65%
Would use telehealth if available
3.6x
Higher chronic disease rates in underserved areas

The Healthcare Access Problem

Millions face barriers to healthcare access due to:

  • Geographic isolation from medical facilities
  • Transportation challenges and costs
  • Shortage of healthcare providers in rural areas
  • Financial constraints and lack of insurance
  • Long wait times for appointments
  • Language and cultural barriers

Validated Data: Research shows that rural residents are 40% less likely to have access to mental health services and 30% more likely to have chronic conditions that go unmanaged due to access barriers.
